Opera launches Apps Club

Opera has today globally launched it's netflix-style subscription service for premium android apps. The Opera Apps Club offers a monetization model for apps based on an unlimited all you can download subscription service, which in turn can be paid for via operators billing systems. Based on the announcement it looks like Opera are making use of one of their purchases Bemobi whom they purchased in 2015.

It seems the service itself has already been rolled out in Brazil and Latin America with 34 wireless carriers and two OEMS and now looks to be rolling out globally. Admittedly we (joolx) don't know enough about the service but it appears Opera are pushing this as an OEM solution for carriers with the announcement toting the apps ability to be "highly customized for each mobile operators audient, focusing on games or apps from hundreds of developers worldwide"
